WHERE TO STAY NEAR FIRA BARCELONA
Fira de Barcelona is the largest trade show and convention centre in Barcelona, and one of the most important in Europe in number of events. It organizes over 250 congresses and fairs every year, with over 2.5 million visitors and 30,000 exhibitors. Some of the most famous shows are the Mobile World Congress (MWC), Automobile Barcelona, Alimentaria, Smart City Expo World Congress and Construmat.
The trade shows take place in two different venues: Fira Barcelona Montjuic, the historical landmark of the 1929 world Fair, and Fira Barcelona Gran Via, the iconic venue designed by the Japanese architect Toyo Ito. Both facilities are well connected with the airport, but Montjuic is closer to the city center. But in order to maximize your time at the congress, you’ll want to stay at one of the hotels near fira de Barcelona. Here are your best options:
Fira Barcelona Gran Via hotels
Located in the limits between Barcelona and the city of L’Hospital de Llobregat, this is the newest convention centre of Fira Barcelona. It’s well communicated with the airport with the subway L9S line, stopping at Fira and Fira | Europa stations (30 minutes) and and an 8 minutes ride by taxi. Fira Gran Via Barcelona is also very easily connected with Fira Montjuic via the FFCC stopping at Fira | Europa (same station where the subway stops, L8, S3, S4, S8, S9, R5, R50, R6 and R60) in 6 minutes, one minute faster than a taxi ride. There’s one more subway line in the area, L10S, connecting with the Zona Franca free zone, the Mercabarna wholesale market and the FC Barcelona Stadium.
